Heidi Iren Hansen MW – First Norwegian professional member Of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs to become Master of Wine!
Heidi Iren Hansen MW was raised in Asker just a short train-ride form Oslo, and she is a self-proclaimed Wine-nerd. Heidi lives and works in Oslo where she manages all wine courses and educations at The Culinary Academy of Norway (Kulinarisk Akademi (KA)). She teaches both the sommelier education and all levels of WSET. She started her career as a cook, completed her sommelier education in 2009 at KA as best in class and achieved the WSET Diploma in Wines and Spirits in 2013. She worked as a sommelier at Norske Selskap and restaurant manager at Refsnes Gods before her current job at KA. As so Heidi also loves running courses focusing on food and wine in combination for wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs. When she was working as a sommelier Heidi also participated in various competitions and holds silver medal from the Norwegian Sommelier championship and bronze from the Nordic sommelier championship.
Heidi passed her last exam for Master of Wine on August 26th this year becoming the sixth MW in Norway and getting the most prestigious title in the wine-world just held by 409 persons world-wide. She is also the youngest in Norway to achieve the title of Master of Wine.
Heidi Hansen MW is a new professional member to Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and she is to be inducted at the ceremony at Gamle Logen as Vice-Chargé de Mission to Bailliade d’Oslo during the Chapitre on October 24th followed by Grand Diner at Oslo Militære Samfund.
